Virtual Pilates - Confident Movers

Join me for a 50 minute mindful Pilates class from the comfort of your own home.

This class is suitable for those who are injury-free and used to a moderate level of movement practice and exercise. You do not have to have Pilates experience but you should be comfortable with an intermediate and slightly more intense level of exercise. If in doubt, get in touch with me to discuss if this class is right for you, or simply try it out! You can always stop if it feels too difficult.

The pace of the class will be slow and I will demonstrate each movement to you before talking you through it. We will be focusing on improving our technique of the intermediate exercises as well as create some flowing sequences for us to just enjoy and get a little lost in.

This class is great if you want to refine your push-ups or abdominal workouts and are seeking a calm but fun physical challenge while staying at home.

The class will be live and provides you with some much-needed connection to other people while staying at home. It will be up to you if you want to be seen by me and other participants or whether you choose to follow the class more privately with your camera disabled.

This class offers you 50 minutes of connecting with your body and mind, as well as other real people! We will be focusing on breathing practice, mobilizations, gentle stretches and subtle stability and strength work, all designed to make you feel calmer, more relaxed and more comfortable and healthy in your body.

The pace of the class will be slow and I will demonstrate movements to you where necessary, before talking you through the exercises, so that you can just focus on yourself when you are engaging with them.

This class is suitable for all levels, as it will give you options to regress and progress exercises so they are the right kind of challenge for you.

We will always start with the easiest variation of an exercise, which means we can all do it and you can use it as preparation if you choose to have a go at a more progressive movement afterwards.

The class still follows a calm and gentle pace, so we can always be in the moment of what we are doing, and varies mobilisations and stretches with stability and strength challenges.

The class will be live and provides you with some much-needed connection to your own body and other people while staying at home. It will be up to you if you want to be seen by me and other participants or whether you choose to follow the class more privately with your camera disabled.

Virtual Somatic Movement Meditation

Join me for a 50-minute body-focused mediation class, using techniques from somatic experiencing, neuro-linguistic programming and somatic movement.

This class is specifically designed to resource you and help you feel more grounded, calm and comfortable in this uniquely challenging time.

We will seek to establish a connection and sense of safety in our body and in the present moment. We will calm our nervous system and our body by use of small repetitive movements, breathing techniques and grounding and orienting exercises. These are great simple tools that you will be able to also practice on your own to help you stay balanced and calm throughout the day.

Another important part of "self-regulation" is to acknowledge the physical sensations, feelings and thoughts that come with being in a challenging situation. Rather than blocking out fears or physical tension we will safely and gently acknowledge these symptoms of stress and support them to travel through us without overwhelming us.

The class will be live and provides you with some much-needed connection to other people while staying at home. It will be up to you if you want to be seen by me and other participants or whether you choose to follow the class more privately with your camera disabled.

You will receive a recording of the class, so you can participate at a time that suits you or to repeat some of the exercises you found most effective at other times in the week.

Virtual Mini-Workshop: Support for Walkers & Runners

Since gyms and yoga studios are currently closed, many of us have taken up running or going for long daily walks to keep up our cardiovascular fitness.

This virtual 90-minute workshop is packed with advice and exercises to help you support this activity.

While walking and running outdoors has many health benefits it can bring some unwanted aches and pains, due to muscular and postural imbalances, joint stiffness and increased impact on our joints through hard pavements.

There are many ways in which we can support our body minimise impact and strain as we get our blood moving outdoors.

Our whole body is involved in these activities, therefore this workshop will also provide you with a full-body movement class and sequences of exercises that you can integrate into your runners and walkers warm-up and cool down.

There will also be time at the end of the workshop for any questions you may have around the subject of walking and running.

Virtual Pilates Masterclass: Have Fun With A Chair

Let's get creative with what we all have at home - a chair!

This fun 90-minute class will mix up your mat-based exercise routines and show you how you can have fun and new movement experiences and challenges using a common chair.

The exercises will be of varying intensity, from gentle to more adventures. However, you will always be kept save by being provided with options that are right for you.

While the chair may imply that we will be sitting a lot, seated exercises will only be a small part of our class. We will explore how the chair can help us explore also lying and standing strength and mobility challenges.
But most importantly this class will allow us to laugh, have fun and think out the box while having a thorough workout to kick start the weekend.

You will receive the recording of the class afterwards so that you can continue to enjoy using your chair as an exercise tool again and again.
