We all sleep, but why and how are still a mystery. What is certain is that a healthy sleep pattern can drastically improve our mental and physical health, as well as ensure we perform at our peak. When people feel and perform at their best, their own assessment of their life and circumstance improve drastically.

What is CBTi?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, or CBTi, combines various techniques and approaches including cognitive, behavioural and psychoeducational, to identify thoughts, feelings and behaviours which are contributing to the symptoms of insomnia. We will then reframe these misconceptions and challenges, resulting in better sleep.

Why choose CBTi?

Healthy sleep is essential. Improving sleep has been proven to increase productivity and reduce the chances of mental health problems developing. Anxiety and stress, depression, anger, grief and trauma are some of the most common causes of insomnia and the symptoms of these conditions are also often highly exacerbated with lack of sleep.

What does CBTi in Southend at The Body Matters include?

Over the course of the 6 weeks:

  • We will have weekly 1hr check-ins on zoom.
  • You will be taught new techniques, discuss the previous week and learn about the science of sleep.
  • You will be required to keep a sleep diary where you will record when you were in bed and when you were awake (this will be provided).
  • You will also be required to try out the techniques set to see what works.

We will ultimately give you back control of your sleep, in order for you to feel healthier and happier than ever before.
