Acupuncture for Depression in Southend-on-Sea

We all have ups and downs, but when the emptiness and despair take hold of us and refuse to go away, we may have depression. Life seems intolerable and just getting through the day can be overwhelming.

Acupuncture can treat a variety of conditions but more recently I have noticed that there have been an increasing number of clients suffering from depression.  The World Health Organisation estimates that in the next 5-6 years, depression will become almost as significant a health issue as chronic heart disease.  Recent research suggests Acupuncture can help lift people out of depression.

When I first met Michelle (assumed name), she was tired, anxious, agitated, and tearful.  She was having marital problems and felt that she could no longer cope.

She felt like crying most of the time, was having difficulty sleeping, and constantly woke up tired.  She was finding it a struggle to think clearly or concentrate and had problems making simple decisions.  She was finding it tough to function normally.

Acupuncture works on balancing the energy flow in your body.  I started working on Michelle, with the aim of balancing the energy linked to her emotions and physical symptoms.

After Michelle’s initial Acupuncture session, Michelle reported that she slept better, felt more positive and was calmer. After her final session, she felt she was emotionally stronger, more in control and able to think clearly and able to deal with life.
